I play mainly Jazz and Gypsy jazz, and after years of searching, I've found that the BSN900 light strings offer a warm sound and feel, perfect tension to produce a rich tone, and a fast response for soloing. They feel comfortable under my hands and remain stable when the temperature changes on stage, whether indoors or outdoors. These Galli strings play and sound fantastico !
Biography
Double bass player Daniel Gueli is half Dutch, half Italian. He started playing the guitar at the age of 12 and gradually developed a greater interest in the bass. From the age of 16, he played as an electric bass player and singer in rock bands. After completing a nursing study, Daniel traveled through Africa. This experience led him to pursue his dream: he bought a double bass and attended the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. There, Daniel was shaped into a versatile bassist who effortlessly plays various music styles, both electric and on the double bass.
As a professional bassist, Daniel has played with musicians such as Nano Stern (Chile), Philippe Lemm, Alexander Beets, Sven Rozier, Jonn Reyna, Fabio Marziali, and Saskia Laroo, with whom he has been on several world tours to South Korea, India, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Oman, Chile, and every corner of Europe.
After being invited by his best friends Ronald Weel and Marcia Bamberg to collaborate with the gypsy guitar virtuoso John Ligthart, Daniel Gueli began to specialize in the gypsy jazz style. He initially joined forces and formed the Marcia Bamberg Swing Quartet. However, it was when the world-renowned Gypsy guitar player Paulus Schäfer brought him into the spotlight that his career truly soared.
Currently, he is an integral part of The Mozes Rosenberg Trio and has had the honor of performing alongside the legendary Stochelo Rosenberg, Jimmy Rosenberg, Johnny Rosenberg, Nouche Rosenberg, Martin Limberger, Dominique Paats, Tcha Limberger, and Kussi Weiss.
In addition to his touring commitments, Daniel hosts a captivating Acoustic Session every Monday at Kaap & Tein in the heart of Amsterdam, attracting guests from around the world to join him in a musical exploration.
